Good Day

I went to Missions Fest today. I intended to be there for only a short little while so I could get back home to do homework, but one of these days I will actually act on the realization that it takes me forever to do anything. This is especially true when it comes to running into so many people that I know and want to catch up with. At almost every booth I stopped at, I either knew the presenter or the presenters knew someone that I know. Same with random people I came across. Needless to say, I did a lot of visiting! There's never enough time to truly catch up though...in any circumstance.

This year I went to Missions Fest with a purpose: to find out the role of OT in missions as well as find out what organizations had openings for OTs. Surprisingly, there was quite a bit. So now the question is: am I going to do this, Lord? And if so, where? It's kind of exciting to me to be thinking about this because I sort of put it on the back-log for so long. It never seemed like it could possibly be reality. And now it's completely possible!

And the afternoon wasn't just about meeting people and finding out information. Two presenters stopped and offered to pray for me, and then proceeded to pray for things that were really pertinent to me. That was a blessing! And a good reminder to not stop praying for people around me.

There was also a huge contrast that stuck out to me. There's such a stark difference between that atmosphere and others I see in or around my life. There was so much blessing, so much love, and so much purpose. I don't mean this in a sappy, nostalgic non-thinking way at all, but in an absolutely truthful way... It was beautiful! Being there was like being in light...

Hey Jos! Nice blog; you sure make a kid think! Anyways I just looked at your profile and seen that The Giver is one of your favorite books... are you talking the one by Lois Lowry or is there another? (Because I love the one by Lois Lowry)
PS-it was good to see you

Hi Jos!
Most definitely the one by Lois Lowry! All-time favorite! I'm sure glad we got together too... we should do this more often (with coupons and gift certificates of course!). Maybe when it's warmer we can go for walks or swing on the swings...

swinging is still one of my favorite past times!!! I can't wait! And now after talking about The Giver I want to go and read it again! ;) it's crazy how we are.

Hey! That's exciting about the new opportunities. I heard you saw my uncle there. I hope school is still going well. It's official now, I'll be heading back to Alberta in the fall. I'm really looking forward to it!

Hey Candice... I thought I'd left you a comment already, but maybe I was dreaming it, or just thinking what to write, but never really writing it. Anyway, Andy told me you stopped by the OM booth at M-fest and said hello!! Thanks so much :) I wish I could have been there myself to receive it in person! Maybe this summer though, I might be coming out for an outreach we're doing for a week in Edmonton at the end of June. I'll let you know more if it's gonna happen for sure... it'd be great to see you if it works out!

Oh dear...shoot...dilemma. I figured something of the sort happened... :o) Actually, after much speculation that's what Rachel predicted. Maybe you should drop by and we can exchange #s...again. Not tonight though cuz I'm at Bible study. I only have your cell, and that just won't work now. Or... we have mutual friends that have my #...
